This distinguished Balaton spa town has the honour of being the place where the first Balaton steamship departed from, the first yachting club was founded here, and it was here that the rich and famous of last century built their villas.

A MEMORIAL MUSEUM to the great Romantic novelist MÓR JÓKAI (1825-1904) is established in his Eclectic-style villa, complete with original furniture and personal items belonging to the writer.
